It was  a night  to  cherish  for  two of our well known Stonebridge  residents, Nancy Dyson  and  Dave Schindler,  who  won for their film entry’s at  the  2016  Wasaga  Film Festival Red  Carpet  Gala  Awards, held April 30th, 2016,  at  the Rec  Plex  in Wasaga Beach.

Nancy won the Regional SGB Video Advertisement Category Award, sponsored by OHMJAM, for her light hearted video depicting a day at the local Stonebridge restaurant “Sunset Grill”.  Nancy is an avid supporter of the Wasaga Film Festival and was the sponsor of the International General Category Platinum Award.

David’s first Regional  SGB Music Video Category  Award  for the film “Livin the Life I Love” sponsored by Re/Max  of Wasaga  Beach Inc., was accepted  by his  very proud wife Pat Schindler.  David, a multi-talented musician, is currently entertaining the crowds on Friday and Saturday evenings, at the new Strand restaurant in Collingwood.  His catchy video accurately reflects the feelings many of us here in Stonebridge experience daily, as a result of a move from the big city to life at the beach.

Congratulations to both of these winners and a heartfelt thankyou to the many Stonebridge residents who attended the Wasaga Film Festival View and Vote Events and the Gala.   As Gary  Cerentola, Chair  of  the  Wasaga Arts  Council  and Film  Festival stated at the  Video Advertisement View and  Vote Event, there  is  a “Stonebridge  Culture”  alive and well in Wasaga  Beach and it is something that he hopes the rest of the town will soon adopt.  Well done Stonebridge!!!
